Mike,
I can sympathize. While she wasn't a best friend, but someone I considered a friend none the less. We'd talk every few days, sometimes have lunch every couple of months. At times there were tension, she always worried about my feelings, and I admit I had a soft spot for her, but I understood. I tried to keep it friendly, but I guess I went too far by suggesting we'd hang out one evening at a sporting event. Kinda went downhill after that, a sudden silent treatment from her, and me wondering what happened. In a sense, I was like Neil. I wished she'd at least communicate her grievances, but what little I did get out of her, she seemed irrational. People are moody and never know what little thing will set them off. Its been over a year now that this has happened. Its improved slightly. I say hi and she responds hi, how are you. But I've taken a big step back. Besides being moody, people see what they want to see. Myself included. Maybe in time, things will change. I hope they do for you and Neil too. Life is too short.

Thanks, Chelsea. I'm probably one of the few people when asked, "how are you" actually give an actual answer. When you asked and I answered that I wasn't well, I meant it. If you asked me the same question today, I can honestly answer that I'm well.

He's a good example of how not to let HIV get the best of you & how to continue to look forward...

Cheers!

Thanks for sending me the link to your blog, Mike. I am honored to be one of the people you've shared your story with. While I passed you in the halls and the one day in the parking garage and casually asked, "How are you?" it's only now that I can begin to understand whata complex question I was asking. I'm happy they were able to catch it early on and that you seem to be doing much better than you were previously. :)

I takes courage to write a blog like this but I bet you feel cleansed by telling your story. I wish you much luck in your managing your condition. The doctor is right, it's no different then being a diabetic. You just need to keep tabs of any thing different in the way you feel. I will pray for you! God Bless!
